Sandia Mountains
Muralla Grande
La Selva
October 2006

Chris came to town and we went out climbing. La Selva was the route, which is on a formation called Muralla Grande. We drove to the crest and hiked in from there. After taking a few minutes to find the route Chris lead the first pitch.

There is a great view of another classic Sandia climb, the Northwest Ridge of the Thumb, from this route.

I lead the second pitch and Chris lead the third. This got us to a terrific ledge with a tree where we lounged while eating some lunch.

After lunch Chris led the 5.8 crux pitch. We traded leads after that, with a fair amount of scrambling to reach the top.

That's about it for this one. Short and sweet....
